Description:  The Juniper SRX3K-2XGE-XFP IOC enable users to receive 10-Gigabit Ethernet traffic from fiber interface by adds two ports into the system. It receives power and communicates with the Switch Fabric Board (SFB) after being inserted horizontally into the mid plane of the services gateway. Users have to install 10-Gigabit small form-factor pluggable (XFP) transceivers in the desired ports to communicate with fiber interface media.

Product Overview

SRX3K-2XGE-XFP is an expansion  module has two ports for about 10 Gigabit-Ethernet traffic for fiber interface medium. It is used in SRX-3400 services gateways and SRX-3600. it is a product of Juniper plug-in module compatible for PC.

 

Performance

In SRX3K-2XGE-XFP has a software of Junos OS 9.3 and later . It has two XFP ports for Ethernet traffic and XFP transceivers such as 10GBASE-ER, 10GBASE-LR and 10GBASE-SR. SRX3400 and SRX3600 services gateway are in express path mode in Junos OS but later IOC are work only in front slots 1 and 3.  IOCs are cold swapped modules so power should be switched off before replacing or adding.

Power requirement is 52W maximum and weighs of 2.4 lb (1.1kg)

 

LED Indications

SRX3K-2XGE-XFP has two LEDs.

-One of it is Service, it has three indications green shows that IOC is mapped on NSPC and available to transfer Ethernet traffic. Amber indicates that IOC is not mapped to NSPC so it is not available to transfer Ethernet traffic. Unlit shows IOC is disabled but mapped to NSPC.

-Other is OK/FAIL, in this steady green indicates that IOC is normal. Blinking green shows IOC is inserted or being removed . Red shows that IOC is failed and not working normally. Unlit shows that IOC is offline.

 

Supported Slots and Controls

SRX3K-2XGE-XEP has two ports and port type is XEP 10 Gbps. It has a maximum configurable MTU of 9192 Bytes.

ONLINE button  on the IOC panel has no function.

Serial number label is placed on the right side.

SRX1400 supports front slot 2.

SRX3400 supports front slot 1 through 4.

SRX3600 supports front slot 1 through 6.

Installation

Steps to install it -

1) ESD grounding strap should be added to your wrist and connect to one of the ESD on chassis.

2)Whiling installing cold swap power off the services gateway.

3)Find the slot on the services gateway to install the CFM .

4)Remove CFM from electrostatic bag and keep it on top.

5)If CFM is covered then loosen the screws then take off the panel.

6)Orient the CFM so that it faces you. Move the CFM all the way into card .

7)Tighten the screws on both sides of CFM.

8)Insert cables into connector ports. Secure the cables and place them properly.

9)After you placed the hot swappable CFMs ,press the online button to power it on.
