The Hirschmann RS20-0800M4M4SDAE managed switch is an 8-port network switch. There are 2 uplink ports and 6 host ports on the switch. The 2 uplink ports provide a redundant connection to aggregation switches, and the host ports connect to local host devices such as computers, IP cameras, and Ethernet-enabled industrial systems. Both of the uplink ports have an ST socket and they can be used with multimode fiber cable. The RS20-0800M4M4SDAE managed switch is part of the RS20 series which includes switches with only Fast Ethernet ports (Gigabit Ethernet is not supported). The switch is manageable and it comes with a wide range of configurable features. Some of the features which are available on the switch software include the SNTP (client and server), Profinet I/O protocol, IP-based port security, MAC-based port security, DHCP relay, syslog, duplex mismatch detection, redundant network coupling, and the quality of service.

The Hirschmann RS20-0800M4M4SDAE managed switch consumes a maximum of 7.7 Watts of power and it can be operated with either 9.6 to 60 Volts DC or 18 to 30 Volts AC input voltage. To prevent damage, the relative humidity in the vicinity of the switch needs to be maintained between 10 and 95% and the ambient temperature needs to be maintained between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.
