About MS30-0802SAAP

The MS30-0802SAAP Switch Backplane is a MICE Switch Backplane manufactured by Hirschmann. It provides the switch function, redundancy function, voltage connection, adjustable controls, management function, and the display controls required for reliable operations. This backplane module can be managed and monitored via a range of management software such as the Industrial HiVision software and the V24 interface which is situated locally in the device. The bottom of the device has a terminal block, a DIP switch, a USB port, and a V.24 port for easy configurations. The MS30-0802SAAP Switch Backplane is used for providing continuous communication across all levels of the plant. It has a range of certifications such as the CE, UL 508, and ISA 12.12 certifications to meet all the relevant industry standards.


The MS30-0802SAAP Switch Backplane has 8 fast Ethernet ports and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports. It is equipped with a basic module, media modules, and slots for connecting additional media modules. Each media module of the device contains one LED per port. The operating voltage range of the MS30-0802SAAP Switch Backplane is 18 to 32 Volts DC. It has 233 milliamps of rated current consumption and 5.6 Watts of rated power consumption. The supply voltage to the module is provided via a 4-pin terminal block. A redundant power supply can be used as the power source. The supply voltage of the module must be electrically isolated from the housing. A potential-free relay contact acts as the signaling contact of the device. The signaling contact can perform a remote diagnosis to detect voltage supply problems, general errors, excessive temperatures, and the removal of the ACA. This module is designed to be used in a harsh industrial environment.
