About MM2-4TX1

The MM2-4TX1 module is a Hirschmann-manufactured PowerMICE media module. It is used in communication and data transfer applications within the network. The module is equipped with four 10/100 BaseTX Ethernet ports. The module supports the auto crossing, auto negotiation, and auto polarity functions that can handle different application demands. The operating voltage of the media module is supplied from the backplane of the host PowerMICE switch. The module uses a twisted pair cable with a length of up to 100 meters depending on the application. The MM2-4TX1 media module has a power consumption rating of 0.8 Watts. The power output of the media module is 2.8 BTU per hour as heat. The front side of the module houses the diagnostics LED indicators that show different status updates including power, link status, data, and ring port status updates. The operating temperature should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and can the storage temperature shoud be between -40 and 70 degrees Celsius.


The Hirschmann PowerMICE MM2-4TX1 media module helps to build the Ethernet network up as needed and it is cost effective in the long run. It can be easily mounted on the backplane of the host PowerMICE managed switch. The module is protected with an IP 20 rated enclosure. The enclosure is not water resistant and the module should be used for indoor applications only. The MM2-4TX1 media module has a small form factor with dimensions of 38 millimeters in width, 134 millimeters in height, and 77 millimeters in depth. It weighs 170 grams. The front side of the media module has a blank label that can be used by the operators to write down important operating information about the module to identify it easily. It can easily withstand shocks and vibrations under normal usage. The module meets different environmental and electrical standards including the FCC, EN, cUL, and ISA standards.
