The BRS20-8TX-EEC switch is a Hirschmann-manufactured managed industrial switch. It is a managed switch that is made for DIN Rail mounting. It is powered with a voltage rating of 12/24 Volts DC. It has a fanless design. The switch is equipped with 8 ports in total. These ports offer high speed Ethernet data transfers and communication. The ports are the 10/100BASE TX/RJ 45 port variants. The BRS20-8TX-EEC managed switch helps to enable real-time communication with TSN technology. It helps to meet different communication demands in applications in industrial settings. The switch is compact in size and allows for advanced bandwidth capabilities. The front side of this managed switch has all the ports along with a corresponding LED indicator for each port. The indicators blink when network activity is present in their ports. Along with the 8 Ethernet ports, there is a USB port for switch configuration. The environmental temperature should be between -40 and 70 degrees Celsius for normal switch operation in a clean environment with no EMC noise.

The Hirschmann BRS20-8TX-EEC managed Ethernet switch comes with a 6-pin plug-in terminal block for the power supply and signaling contact and with a 2-pin terminal block for the digital input. For connections, the switch uses twisted pair cables. This industrial switch consumes a total of 6 Watts of power and it dissipates 20 BTU per hour of heat with normal usage. The BRS20-8TX-EEC managed Ethernet switch features functions like the management address conflict detection function, signal contact function, TCP dump function, and the overload detection function. It offers security features like the port-based access control with 802.1x device security indication. The switch is housed inside an IP 30 rated enclosure for protection in indoor and outdoor locations.
