The OZD Profi 12M G11 module is a Hirschmann Profibus repeater module from the FiberINTERFACES product line. It is meant to be installed in industrial optical Profibus field bus networks, where its primary application is to convert RS 485 level electrical Profibus interfaces into optical Profibus interfaces or to convert the optical Profibus interfaces into or back into RS 485 level electrical Profibus interfaces. It is simple for the operators to build a complete optical Profibus field bus network with the OZD Profi 12M G11 Profibus repeater module because it can be used with any kind of ring, line, star, or combination topology and because all of its ports are independent and they each feature a transmitting component and a receiving component.

In addition to being used to build new Profibus field bus networks, the Hirschmann OZD Profi 12M G11 Profibus repeater module from the FiberINTERFACES series can also be installed in a pre-existing Profibus field bus network. It is easy to install the repeater module in a pre-existing network because of its optical transmission technology which is designed to work with all Profibus field bus networks. The OZD Profi 12M G11 Profibus repeater module runs on 24 Volts DC voltage from a connected power supply. This repeater module can also be connected to a redundant power supply or feed to increase operational safety and to reduce the risks of power failures and data losses. The electric port on the OZD Profi 12M G11 Profibus repeater module is a 9-pole Sub-D female socket port, and it is for connecting to an RS 485 bus segment.
