Product overview
The Cisco WS-X4748-SFP-E is a catalyst 4500 E-series gigabit Ethernet line card built with 48-port 10/100/1000 multigigabit PoEP non-blocking SFP. These sets of lines provide a capacity to increase the switching capacity per slot (an increase which would require the Cisco catalyst 4500 E series supervisor). It is a technology wired plug in module.
Technical specifications
The Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series can support 2 categories of line cards; the classic line cards and the E-series line card (the 46xx types and the 47xx types). The Cisco WS-X4748-SFP-E is classified as belonging to the E-series line cards numbered 47xx and is able to drive up to 48 gigabits of switching capacity for each slot. These ports are of the pluggable kind with a measured port speed is about 1GbE / 100 Mbps. It is equally equipped with a jumbo frame support of up to 9216 bytes (Layer 2 - 4). The WS-X4748-SFP-E supports standard IEEE 802.1AE encryption and Cisco TrustSec in hardware and standard IEEE 802.3at PoEP support on all the 48 available ports at the same time. The WS-X4748-SFP-E can run on the Cisco IOS Software Release IOS-XE3.5.0E/15.2 (1) E or later.
