Product Overview:
The Cisco Catalyst switch WS-C3850-48P helps bring wired and wireless access together through UADP ASIC. It ensures consistent and desirable wired-wireless enforcement and visibility with the help of Cisco StackWise 480 technology. It works with RJ-45 connector, Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), field-replaceable network modulesand fiber-based downlink interfaces.
Feature set and network modules:
WS-C3850-48P works with LAN Base Layer 2 switching feature set and has up to 255 VLANs and 1 RU. Users can choose one of the C3850-NM-4-1G, C3850-NM-2-10G and C3850-NM-4-10G network modules with this switch at the time of purchase. Five optional network modules for uplink ports are available with 3850 Series Switches.
Licensing and updates:
Users can activate and update the desired feature set using Cisco IOS depending upon the license type. Cisco Smart Net contract is needed to upgrade IP Services feature set.
Stacking:
This is a Stackable switch having both StackWise-480 and StackPower features.
Power Supply:
WS-C3850-48P Cisco needs AC power supply of 715WAC.
POE power capacity:
This switch has 48 PoE+ 10/100/1000 or SFP or SFP+ ports with PoE power capacity 435W which can reach up to 1535 W with an 1100W secondary Power supply.
