About

About DCS-7150S-64-CL-R

Product Overview

The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R is an Ethernet switch, manufactured by Arista Networks, that belongs to the 7150S series. As a member of the layer 3 wire switch family, the DCS-7150S-64-CL-R epitomizes an ultra low latency device which is also built with efficiency and advanced monitoring and provisioning. It has 48main ports, of the SFP+ type and a main port speed of 10GbE. The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R has 4 Uplink ports and each of these ports function at a speed of 40GbE. The uplink ports are also of the QSFP+ type

The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R runs on a minimum EOS of 4.11.3. It is not stackable and has an estimated weight of 19 Ibs (8.62 kg). Its dimensions are 19 x 16 x 1.8 inches (48.26 x 40.64 x 4.57 cm)

Technical Specifications

The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R, as do all members of the 7150S series, has an integrated high precision oscillator which allows it to accurately time, while having an extended holdover. It is also characterized by latency (360ns) and application analysis, which enables it to detect and stream microbursts and transient congestion at rates of microseconds. Even when other features like ACL and QoS are running, the DCS-7150S-64-CL-R still maintains its latency. It allows rear-to-front airflow and a 2x AC Power Supply Unit (PSU). It has a throughput of 1.28 Terabytes per seconds and runs at 960 Mpps.

Its Central Processing Unit runs on dual core x86 and has up to 50 Gigabytes SSD storage. The Packet buffer memory allows the DCS-7150S-64-CL-R to run a dynamic buffer allocation.

The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R enables next generation Data Center virtualization, thanks to the wire-speed VXLAN Gateway and it strictly adheres to the IEEE 1588 Precision time protocol. This protocol is responsible for the nanosecond accuracy associated with hardware-based timing while in ‘in-band distribution’.

It has a 4Gb RAM and a flash memory of 2 gigabyte. The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R has a Desktop, rock mountable 1U Enclosure type with a Jumbo frame support of 9216 bytes.

Power Supply

The DCS-7150S-64-CL-R functions at a Nominal voltage of 120/230V AC and at a frequency of 50/60 Hertz. Its operational power consumption is 224 watts (typical, that is, measured at 25 degrees Celsius ambient temperature, with a load of 50% present on all ports) with a maximum power draw of 455 Watts and it has the internal power supply type. It also features a hot-plug while giving room for power redundancy (1+1) scheme. This redundancy in power ensures that there is never a time when power is needed but unavailable.
