The Bobcat series Hirschmann BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC-HL managed switch is a fanless industrial switch. It supports an extended operating temperature range from -40 to 70 degrees Celsius. The BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC-HL switch is a managed switch which supports a vast array of configurable features. The switch configuration can be performed from a computer which connects to the USB-C port on the switch. A few of the features available on the switch are the manual cable crossing, port power down, Profinet protocol, buffered real-time clock, CLI logging, HTTPS certificate management, ingress VLAN-based ACL, DHCP server, text-based configuration file, port mirroring, self-test on cold start, copper cable test, redundant network coupling, and the GARP multicast registration protocol. The Bobcat series from Hirschmann also supports real-time communication through TSN.

The Hirschmann BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC-HL managed switch has 4 slots which can be used for fiber SFPs. The maximum data rate supported by the fiber slots is 2.5 Gbps. The maximum distances which the fiber SFP slots can support will vary with the type of SFP used because single-mode SFPs will support longer distances than multi-mode SFPs. The BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC-HL managed switch also has 8 copper ports with RJ-45 interfaces which support a maximum data rate of 1 Gbps. The switch is DC-powered and it supports a 12 to 24 Volts DC input voltage range. It is designed for DIN Rail mounting and it is available in an enclosure made of PC-ABS material which has an IP 30 protection rating. The HiVision network management system software can be ordered as an accessory for the switch. The safety instructions contained in the manual should be read and implemented during the switch installation and operation processes.
